A personʼs wealth should never be a factor in the quality of health care they receive. To often illness in a family will lead to employers cutting costs by removing the employee whose family member is driving up company health care premiums. This will leave a family, already burdened by a chronic illness, with little or no income and no insurance. Itʼs not the employers fault. In order to continue providing at least a minimal insurance plan to the other employees, those who need it the most must be sacrificed.
Unlike what the insurance industry would have you believe the cause of the healthcare crisis in this country isnʼt the result of trial layers. The real reason people are dieing and families are being destroyed is a direct result of insurance lobbyists bribing politicians with campaign contributions. Those are two of the reasons why Iʼve decided to vote for John Laesch. I believe John is the best chance the fourteenth district has in this election to help end the political bribery and bring about a single-payer healthcare system.

John lives in Yorkville. He’s a part of our community. He knows about the problems we are having getting Rt. 47 widened because he drives up and down that highway, just like we do. He knows Kendall County is facing growth issues and that our schools are overcrowded.

My daughter is serving with the Army in Iraq. I know that John would not have voted to let our soldiers go into war without the proper body armor or let them be gipped on benefits because not only is he a vet himself, but he has friends and neighbors who are vets. He’s not going to let them down.

John Laesch ran for the position of Congressman in the 2006 election. He ran a vigorous campaign and received 40% of the votes cast. It took considerable courage to oppose Hastert for this position, and that spirit should be remembered at this time. He has served in the military and is familiar with problems in the Middle East. He favors withdrawing our troops at the earliest possible moment. He recognized the need for significant reform in the medical care establishment so that adequate care is available to all our citizens.
